Position Description
The candidate(s) will have the opportunity to experience a Montessori classroom in action. The candidate will work with primary Montessori students to help them navigate their classroom experience. There will be an opportunity to work with students in small groups as well as lead the class in routines such as calendar, story, class outings. Candidates can also design their own teaching experience once they feel comfortable in the classroom. This opportunity is open to discussion and can be done with small groups or the whole class.
Organization Information
The Montessori program is held at Silverstar elementary in a public school setting. There are three Montessori classes in the school and 17 traditional classes. The program has the support of the Vernon Montessori Society. Classes follow the BC curriculum and guidelines, but within the framework of the Montessori methodology.
