Position Description
In this placement you will be immersed in daily practice alongside Early Childhood Educators. You will experience first-hand methods of guiding young children in an early learning program, and ultimately design and implement fun activities that develop fine and gross motor skills in young children. This position would be of interest to a candidate who has a focus on physical literacy and development.
In practice, you’ll find different ways to engage a large group, redirect behaviors, comfort, and support children in their learning about the world around them.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you will have the opportunity to attend field trips to the Treehouse Forest Classroom and the Clubhouse Farm. The group is scheduled to leave by bus at 9:00am and arrive back to the center at 12:30pm.
Organization Information
The Clubhouse at Sutherland provides a full day early learning program for children ages 2 to 5. We operate Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 5:00pm. We visit the Clubhouse Farm or Treehouse Preschool on bi-weekly field trips. The ideal platform for early learning education promotes the emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of each child. This development is best nurtured through play, music, stories, games, art, and access to nature. Dedicated, caring educators offer a child-centred foundation: through kind example and loving care, we emphasize appropriate behaviour and problem solving skills. Skill advancement and school readiness are achieved through these key concepts used to encourage the growth and development of all our children.
