Description
This Capstone project is a program designed to include a blended learning approach/environment (in-class instruction and virtual learning), guiding internationally-trained professional women who arrive in Canada as new immigrants in best strategizing their job search in Canada for suitable employment. It also includes a placement component with a 12 to 16 week placement with an employer in their fields of training/professional experience. This work placement will provide participants with the Canadian work experience they need to find long-term employment in their fields, as well as connections (mentors, colleagues in the same field) which will in turn add a social/recreational element to their enhanced learning. An added aspect of this program would also be cultural acclimatization through employment and social participation within a Canadian work environment.
