Position Description

May is a busy and exciting time at the Okanagan Science Centre! We welcome numerous classes at the science centre from the Okanagan and Columbia-Shuswap regions in Grades K-7 for hands-on science programming. We also travel throughout the surrounding school districts (SD22, SD23, and SD83) to facilitate science programming in the classroom setting. Other programs include our weekly homeschooling classes and planning our summer programming (summer camps, public hands-on science shows, special events, etc.). During the CFE, teacher candidates will gain STEM-based teaching experience at the science centre and in the field (outdoor learning opportunities and within schools) alongside our programming staff. Additionally, teacher candidates will have the opportunity to develop and/or revise curricula for our school programs based upon the current BC school curriculum.
