Traditionally, May is one of the busiest times for Geering Up as we prepare for and begin our school workshop season (May and June) and develop curriculum for our summer camp season (July and August). During their posting, CFE students will be engaged in a variety of activities that will utilize the skills that they have developed within the teaching program, and will have the opportunity to make lasting connections with teachers and STEM professionals in the Okanagan. In their first week, CFE students will get a chance to use their knowledge to assist in the facilitation of our workshop instructor training, while also gaining new perspectives by participating in the training themselves. In the next two weeks, CFE students will use the skills developed in workshop instructor training to assist with workshop facilitation for classrooms across the Okanagan. In addition to classroom facilitation, CFE students will use their knowledge of the BC curriculum and student interests to work with our Curriculum Development team preparing summer camp activities and materials. *Please note that the work described may take place in-person or online depending on the most recent Covid guidelines.
