For students attending the Summer Institute in Education (SIE), Wednesday is ‘Barbeque Day’. This week, Dr. McCoubrey, the Professor of the Week, hosted this complimentary BBQ with the assistance of other faculty and staff.
While enjoying a barbequed hamburger (or veggie burger) with all the fixings, faculty and students had opportunities to mix and mingle with other invited guests.
Throughout the summer, these guests include the Faculty of Education master’s students and the Secondary Teacher Education Program (STEP) who are attending classes as well.
At UBC’s Okanagan campus this year, SIE’s courses focus on 21st Century learning and run throughout the summer session. Summer Institute in Education is pleased to offer working professionals, graduate and undergraduate students the opportunity to acquire some 21st Century learning expertise.
