Research Interests & Projects

Rob is interested in queer and inclusive language education broadly. Currently, he is drawing from his doctoral work to examine ways that queer joy emerges in the context of FSL for queer Canadian FSL teachers. He is currently working as a research assistant under the supervision of Dr. Stephanie Arnott at the University of Ottawa. Alongside Dr. Arnott and other graduate students, we are exploring the readiness and preparation of Additional Qualification (AQ) courses in Ontario that lead to accreditation to teach FSL. In addition, he is working with other critical FSL and ESL scholars and teachers to create a teacher guide on implementing antiracist pedagogies and practices in FSL/ French as an additional language (FAL).
