Inquiry Box Designer

Position Description

The students will create educational discovery/inquiry boxes and design accompanying classroom activities for French Immersion Social Studies and/or Sciences classes at the secondary level (grades 8-10). The students will consult teachers to identify the key content and targeted curricular competencies that the inquiry boxes would help French Immersion students develop. The students would then find primary resources and artefacts (social studies) and/or experiential materials (sciences) for the inquiry boxes, and then would design accompanying activities in line with the curriculum. A strong emphasis should be put on developing student inquiry and critical thinking skills, as well as provide opportunities for students to collaborate and communicate their ideas and findings in French.
