Position Description
Virtual Teacher’s Assistant
The Student Support Centre is a Zoom based universal support provided by a teacher’s assistant in Literacy or Numeracy. It is offered to students needing assistance in Grades 7-12.
Teacher’s assistants provide support with the following:
– Academic courses (comprehension, higher level thinking, step by step instruction)
– Executive functioning (organization, planning, time management)
– Course pacing and accountability
– Building confidence due to anxiety or insecurity
– Motivation
– Literacy and Numeracy assessment practice and support
Curriculum Developer
Candidates will work alongside our curriculum development team to write units in a variety of middle school (Gr 5-9) and high school (Gr 10-12) subject areas. Depending on the interests and specialties of the candidates, possible topics include:
– Anatomy and Physiology
– Christian Studies
– Comparative Religion
– Human Geography
– Life Sciences
– Physics
– Physical Geography
– Science for Citizens
