Teacher candidates will assist with the development of BC Curriculum Connected, Outdoor Education Programs. Candidates will have the opportunity to be working with school classes in our communities delivering outdoor education programs, mostly focused on grades K-9. Candidates will design educational materials such as lesson plans and curriculum maps. Candidates may have the opportunity to connect with our local First Nations school to connect BC Curriculum Big Ideas to Ktunaxa “Big Ideas” with our Land-Based Education project partnership.
Students may have the opportunity to participate in a 4-hour certification HIGH FIVE- Principals of Healthy Childhood Development. This will be optional and will cost approximately $55. Students will be responsible for their own food and transportation. Lodging will be provided by COS while there is programming happening at our Camp.

Columbia Outdoor School provides programming focused on environmental education, sustainability, outdoor skill development, and leadership. We accomplish this through fun, meaningful and collaborative learning experiences in the natural environment. We operate Blue Lake Camp, an outdoor education centre located in the Columbia Basin of British Columbia. Our amazing team of educators also provides outdoor, place-based education in local communities. Columbia Outdoor School is a non-profit registered charity.
