Part-time Sessional or Adjunct Position

The Okanagan School of Education (OSE), located in Kelowna, BC, is part of the Faculty of Education at the University of British Columbia (UBC). UBC is one of the world’s leading universities and is consistently ranked in the top 40. The University has two distinct campuses, one in Vancouver and one in Kelowna. UBC’s Okanagan campus, located in the city of Kelowna on unceded Syilx Okanagan territory, has strong undergraduate and graduate programs, with more than 10,000 students in seven faculties.

The School invites applications for the position of Part-Time Sessional or Adjunct.

Term Appointment – January 10 – April 25, 2022

The post-baccalaureate program requires an instructor or instructors to teach the following sections in Term 2 of the Winter session (January 10 – April 25, 2022).  This course will be taught online.

The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in a related discipline.  The successful candidate(s) will teach:

EDST 498: (3) Technology in the Classroom: Practical Applications for Learning and Teaching.

Seminar that examines special topics and current issues within education. Pass/Fail.

Note: Course is to be taught online (synchronous and/or asynchronously)

Description

Students will gain hands-on experience using a range of learning technologies and investigate how learning technologies may be used to enhance competency-based learning environments.

Primary Target Audience

Practicing teachers who are looking for ways to effectively enhance their learning environments using technology.

Secondary Target Audience

Third and fourth-year students from other faculties on the UBC Okanagan campus who are T.A.’s, tutors or interested future educators that would like to learn how to enhance learning environments using technology.
